How can advertising on Broadview Heights.info help you?
Broadview Heights.info provides several premium-advertising opportunities to local businesses and residents. Why are they premium? We asked ourselves that before we even started, and when we researched several other community-based websites, we found that the pop-ups or flashy, over-crowded advertising was not only an annoyance to the user, but also decreased the value of the advertiser. Even newspaper and magazine advertising tends to get a little overcrowded with ads. For this reason, we set up the following advertising policy for our websites:
- Prominence: There is only one graphical advertisement allowed on any page, displayed prominently on the right side before the fold. This means that your ad will be noticed and valuable - as it will not be cluttered up by a lot of other ads or pop-up windows. There are other ad categories available, but only one graphical ad per page.
- Exclusion - Very Important: Advertisements are only available to local businesses, and some are limited to Broadview Heights businesses only! This ensures that our website will support local commerce, making our communities better for all.
- Limited: We have limited the number of advertisements within each category based on the number of page views the site is receiving. We seek value over volume, and will not accept any new advertising after we've reached the maximum for the category unless total page views increase.
- Variable Ratios: Our ratio-based advertising model allows for buying "slots" of ad space for certain categories. Each slot increases the ads display ratio by one. For example if a business buys 1 slot in 50, their ad will be displayed 2% of the time. If they purchase 5 slots, this ratio will increase to 10%. Advertisers can reserve no more than 5 ad slots for a site.
- Volume Discounts: Purchasing multiple slots, or from multiple categories, may yield a discount of up to 20%
- Early Advantages: Because our ads are displayed according to a ratio, early advertisers get more "bang for the buck". For example, if there are 100 total advertisements available, the first 20 advertisers to buy a single slot will have their ad displayed on 5% of the pages (or 1 out of 20). To get this same display ratio on a full category (95 advertisers) would require 5 slots - costing almost 5 times as much!
Advertising layout, rules and guidelines
- We have strict guidelines for advertisements so they do not become annoying to our users. This is a win-win situation, as the site will be more usable, and your ads will be more noticed.
- All advertisements must be approved by us.
- Many ads say they are limited to local businesses. These are currently considered to be Strongsville, Brecksville, Broadview Heights, North Royalton, Middleburg Heights, Parma, Seven Hills, Independence, Columbia Station, Brunswick, Richfield, Sagamore Hills, and Hinkley
